Privacy Policy
Scope
Last updated: October 31, 2026. This policy explains how Wipeshot handles information when you use the service or contact us.
Information and purposes
We use the files you submit and their technical information to provide previews, processing, downloads and task recovery. We use account information, credit activity and order records for sign-in, billing and support.
Necessary request and diagnostic information helps protect accounts, prevent abuse and resolve errors. If you contact us, we use the information you provide to respond to your request.
For each processing task we keep a short record: when it ran, what kind of task it was, whether it succeeded, the account that ran it, and the source IP address. Access to these records, including full IP addresses, is limited to authorized administrators for usage and cost analysis, billing and support, and service security. They are deleted after 90 days. Older records may contain only an irreversible address identifier.
When you create an account, we also note how you first found us: the page you arrived on, the website that linked to it, and any campaign tags in that link. This tells us which pages and channels help people find the service. No third-party tracking is used for it.
We also keep with your account the country or region you signed up or signed in from, as our network provider reports it: a two-letter country code. This country information tells us where the service is used.
We measure visits and the steps people take with the tools (choosing a file, signing in, claiming free credits, uploading, processing, downloading and purchasing), including whether each step succeeded or failed and, for a failure, a short category such as an unsupported format or a lost connection. This uses a random browser-session identifier that renews after 30 idle minutes. We keep the landing path and short campaign-source tags, without storing the full query string, and may link a session to your account after sign-in; these measurement records are deleted after 90 days. They contain no uploaded file content, file names, error messages or raw network addresses.
File retention
Image processing sessions normally expire after 30 minutes of inactivity. Your browser may keep selected images, previews and results in History for about a day; older records are cleared when history is accessed. You can remove local records or clear site data in your browser.
Video uploads and results are normally removed about a day after upload. Where Delete now is available, you can request earlier deletion. Removing a history entry is not necessarily the same as deleting the video file. Download results promptly and keep your originals.
Accounts and payments
We keep necessary account, order and credit records to operate your account, reconcile payments and resolve disputes. Retention may continue where required for legal obligations or unresolved transactions. We do not store full payment card details.
Use and protection of information
We limit information use to providing the service, protecting its security, meeting legal obligations and purposes you authorize. Necessary service support may involve access to relevant information; such access should be limited to its purpose.
We do not sell your uploaded files or publish them as part of the service. Access controls and other safeguards help protect information, but no online system can guarantee absolute security.
Cookies and browser storage
Necessary cookies and browser storage keep you signed in, remember task state and enable local history. Clearing or blocking them may sign you out or prevent task recovery.
Your choices and requests
For access, correction, deletion or other applicable data rights, contact [email protected]. We may ask for information to verify ownership before acting. Some records may need to be retained to meet legal obligations.
We will update this page when our practices change and provide any notices required by applicable law.
